Teri Patterson Smith is the Acting Chief Operating Officer of the National Football League Players Association.
Alec Scheiner is a Partner of RedBird Capital Partners. In his current role, Alec helps lead RedBird’s sports practice, including direct investing and strategic advisory work. Alec helped source and lead RedBird’s investment in OneTeam Partners – the first scaled partnership between a private equity group and major players associations (NFLPA and the MLBPA) as well as RedBird’s European football platform, RedBird FC, a multi-club European football platform driven by data-analytics via a partnership with some of the top analytics-focused executives in sports. He currently sits on the boards of OneTeam and RedBird FC. Alec is also the CEO of RedBall Acquisition Corp., a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (“SPAC”) focused on sports and media businesses.
Alec holds a B.S.F.S. in Economics and Latin American Studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and a J.D. from Georgetown Law School.
Ian H. Charles is the Founder and Managing Partner at Arctos Sports Partners. In addition to his investment responsibilities, Mr. Charles directs the Firm’s investment strategy, firm governance and investor relations. Prior to the formation of Arctos Sports Partners, Mr. Charles served as a member of the Board, compensation committee, private equity and infrastructure investment committees and Partner at Landmark Partners, a leader in the global private equity, real estate and infrastructure secondary markets.
Mr. Charles graduated with honors from Texas Christian University, where he received a BBA in Finance and a BBA in Accounting. He received his MBA from the Wharton School of Business and is a CFA Charterholder.
As Academic Director of the Master of Science in Sports Management program, Scott Rosner leads all programmatic and curricular development efforts, creates professional development opportunities for students, and manages all strategic planning efforts for the program, including marketing, enrollment, student life, and alumni affairs. Rosner is also a Professor of Professional Practice, teaching graduate-level courses in the discipline of Sports Management.
Scott Soshnick joined Sportico in April of 2020 as its editor-in-chief and head of content, bringing decades of editorial experience to Penske Media’s sports business platform. Prior to joining Sportico, Scott spent 27 years at Bloomberg News, spearheading the global news service’s sports business coverage across a variety of platforms. Scott also founded and co-hosted Bloomberg’s Business of Sports podcast, while creating and hosting a variety of live events with leading industry executives.
Scott graduated from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications with a degree in broadcast journalism. He resides in Glen Ridge, NJ, with his wife and son, who aspires to be an NHL goaltender. As such, Scott spends an inordinate amount of time in hockey rinks.
Peter J. Schwartz is the senior sports valuations and legal reporter at Sportico. Previously, he worked as a reporter focusing on sports business—compiling team, brand, and sports media valuations—at Bloomberg News and Forbes. He also has covered billionaires, mutual funds, private equity, and stocks and bonds. Peter is co-author of “Baseball as a Road to God: Seeing Beyond the Game,” a New York Times bestselling book, and its follow up, “The Law of Baseball: Seeing the Law Through Baseball Cases” (coming soon). He also has served in writing capacities for former U.S. President Bill Clinton and New York City’s bid for the Olympic Games; and he has been a business valuation, expert testimony, and commercial litigation consultant.
