For too long, the apparel supply chain has been a black box. Inputs go in and garments come out with little to no accountability about what happens along the way. The need to substantiate sustainability claims, the push toward identifying fibers in the circular economy and a basic desire by consumers to get what they’re paying for means the risk associated with these opaque operations increases every day.

 

To support the industry’s move to a more transparent, traceable model, Lenzing has partnered with traceability platform TextileGenesis. Together the two companies have piloted the blockchain platform with H&M, ArmedAngels, Mara Hoffman and Chicks as well as supply chain partners across 10 countries for the wood-based Tencel and Lenzing EcoVero-branded fibers. And the results of the trials have accelerated the rollout of the solution across South Asia, China and Turkey by the end of Q1.
